Our Internal Medicine program provides each resident with excellent exposure to medical scholarship, the basis of quality improvement, clinical research methodology and evidence-based application of the medical literature. During their 3 years at Legacy, residents are required to:

  • Conduct a medical scholarship project (ACP poster/ presentation or other written work)
  • Develop a an either educational or clinical quality improvement project
  • Deliver a Grand Rounds presentation in their senior year
  • Present at Evidence-based Medicine Journal Club

Legacy faculty supervise the research design, implementation and outcomes for these projects. Our residents are frequently asked to present their projects at local, regional and national meetings. Examples of recent resident medical scholarship projects include the following:
